Abstract

In order to comprehend how community responds and prepares for anticipating disasters, it is necessary to understand more on how the community copes with unusual or stressful situations. Every community has different characteristics on social structures which assists individual or families passing through difficult periods. As disaster occurs, the community becomes a collective instrument to organize and manage action on behalf of disaster victim, and the relationships of individuals and families within a system be either formal or informal. Therefore disaster management based on the power of community based is supposed to be able to minimize causes and effects of disasters.
