Abstract

Arrival of El Nino gives negative influences on fishery, agriculture and resistance (immunity) of human body particularly related with the increasing number of Dengue Fever cases. The case of Dengue Fever is triggered by the increasing number of mosquito populations and their habitats. To reduce this rick, Hyogo Protocol has set five priorities for action, such as setting a policy, strengthening institutions, improving information on risks and prevention steps (early warning). In accordance with the priorities above, this research is conducted. A research question is whether there is a correlation between the arrival of El Nino and the increasing of Dengue fever cases in Indonesia. If there were the correlation, El Nino could be considered as early warning of impending dengue outbreak.
